The Angkor Intellectual Academy (AiA) was founded in 2019 by a group of scholars who have graduated from locally and internationally recognized universities and have years of experiences both in public and private education sectors. AiA has been established to provide Cambodian children and youths with a well-rounded education in order that they will be able to become independent, caring and responsible global citizens who eventually make a positive impact in both Cambodia and the globe.

Management Retreat 2025 & AOP–SIP Executive Meeting
On December 27–28, 2025, the AiA and PLA Management and Leadership Team participated in the Management Retreat 2025 and the AOP & SIP Executive Meeting 2025 at Kamsan Kampot Resort.
The two-day program featured a series of strategic and team-building activities, including the AOP & SIP Executive Meeting, Gala Dinner, Exercise and Meditation, and an energizing Mountain Hike.
This special gathering served as a platform to strengthen leadership unity, reinforce organizational commitment, and align strategic plans for the upcoming year. The retreat reflected the team’s shared dedication to collaboration, accountability, and sustainable growth.

On the afternoon of November 22, 2025, Dr. Chantha KEN, an academic director, along with the academic team participated in the Professional Development 2025 organized by Oxford University Press (OUP).
The topics for this PD were about 1) Assessment Trends in ELT and Computer Adapted Test (CAT), an online English placement test that automatically adjust the difficulty of questions based on the learner's responses, and 2) Practical Strategies for Wellbeing Classes focusing on physical health and mental health of the students.
#AiA (The Angkor Intellectual Academy-Campus 5 Poipet) is the accredited-Western Australian Curriculum school ! We have implemented the #WAC curriculum since September 2025.
The accredited Western Australian curriculum is overseen by the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA), which sets the curriculum for Kindergarten to Year 12 in Western Australian schools and is recognized by universities, industry, and other training providers. This curriculum covers eight learning areas: English, mathematics, science, humanities and social sciences, the arts, languages, health and physical education, and technologies, with the SCSA adapting the Australian Curriculum for Pre-primary to Year 10 and developing its own syllabuses for senior secondary levels. Upon successful completion of senior secondary schooling (Years 10, 11, and 12), students are awarded the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE), which is a globally recognized credential for higher education admission.
On November 21, 2025, we wrapped up a successful partnership update meeting, ensuring our joint projects and activities remain strong and continue to provide the best higher education pathways for students. Exciting plans ahead!
On November 24, 2025, Dr. Khleang Sovann, Public Relations Director of AiA International School attended the virtual sharing session on “educational counseling, higher education pathways and career readiness” organized by AmCam Exchange and presented by the featuring guest speaker Mr. Lewis Cardenas, Regional Education USA Manager, US Embassy.
The session emphasized how important guidance counselors that can support students through student well-being, academic planning, career readiness, higher education pathways, U.S. applications, scholarships and aid.
Dr. Khleang Sovann, Director of Public Relations of AiA International School, a member of the Federation of Education Services in Cambodia (FESC) and a member of the Working Group to Support the Quality Improvement of Private Educational Institutions of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, was invited to participate in the meeting of the Private Education Sector Working Group "Education Sector" of the Royal Government-Private Sector Forum at the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce on the afternoon of November 14, 2025.
On the afternoon of November 12, 2025, Dr. Khleang Sovann, Director of Public Relations of AiA International School and a member of the Working Group to Support the Quality Improvement of Private Educational Institutions of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, led AiA students to participate in the 4th Study in Europe Fair held at Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Center.
